The Cast of Characters
The first Fell Ponies to arrive in the Pacific Northwest reside at our farm. Six Fell Ponies currently make their home at Musta Hevonen Farm, our first purchased in 1996. Townend Bunny, Townend Rheged, and Haltcliff Rufus arrived direct from England on April 11, 2000.
The first and second Fell Ponies to be born on the West Coast were born here at our farm! Mustahevonen Debut was born at our farm on Flag Day, June 14, 2000. Midnightvalley Poppy gave birth to a healthy filly — her first, and our farm's first. Mustahevonen Deco, another lively filly, was born on July 6, 2000 to Midnightvalley Wild Rose. We have sold our Fabulous Fells throughout the country, from the East Coast (Maryland) to the West Coast (WA, OR, CA), and places in between. Congratulations to the proud Fell owners!

Midnightvalley Wild Rose

Midnightvalley Wild Rose is our first Fell Pony, purchased from Midnight Valley Friesians in Ft. Collins, Colorado in 1996.
Research on the Internet led us to fall in love with the Fell, having decided the breed was more appropriate for our interests than the Friesian. Our first, our matriarch, she is not for sale.

Wild Rose, aka Baby, is taking this year off after having three foals: Mustahevonen Deco, Mustahevonen Taisto, and Mustahevonen Rheged's Inkeri. She is currently in training and doing very well.

Newfarm Apple Blossom

From New Farm in Florida comes Apple Blossom. We purchased her in-utero, and she has surpassed our expectations! Apple now sports the long flowing mane and tail to the ground of her sire, Waverhead Robbie.

A sweet loving Fell with great potential. (Apple Blossom's grandsire, Waverhead Prince II was named "Supreme Champion" at the Stallion and Colt Show 2000 in Cumbria!) Apple's sire, Waverhead Robbie, has done quite well in driving competitions on the East Coast.
Apple had a beautiful black colt, Mustahevonen Rheged's Pippin, June 2, 2003, by our stallion *Townend Rheged. Pippin has been sold to John in California where the he will be shown in harness when he gets older. Congratulations John!

Mustahevonen Rheged's Trixie

Trixie is out of Townend Bunny and by *Townend Rheged. She was born June 20, 2003 and will be an awsome addition to our breeding program. Both sire and dam have wonderful old Championship bloodlines. The Fell Pony Society 30th Annual Breed Show (2000) winner of the Colt class and Best Foal was Waverhead Flash by Lownthwaite Gary. Gary is Rheged's grandsire. Rheged's dam, Robbswater Ruth, comes from a wonderful show background--having won Best of Breed TWICE and BEST OF SHOW competing against ALL native British pony breeds along with Fell ponies.
Trixie's grand-sire, Bunny's sire, was the late Drybarrows Jeff, TWO TIME SUPREME CHAMPION in England. Trixie also has that great Fell people-loving personality. She will surely carry on Rheged's legacy!

Mustahevonen Rheged's Inkeri
AKA Inki, was Rheged's last foal, a beautiful black filly born on Easter Sunday, April 11, 2004! She is Rheged's Easter blessing to us.
Inki is out of our foundation mare, Wild Rose (aka: Baby).
We are very excited about Inki's future here. She also carries on Rheged's legacy, championship bloodlines and will make us all proud!

Mustahevonen Taisto

Taisto was named after my late father, Gunnard Taisto Pylkki. Taisto was born July 5, 2002, out of Wild Rose and by Townend Rheged. We have half ownership with my mother, Jeannette Pylkki.
Taisto, a gelding, will be a great ambassador, with his sire's championship bloodlines, for the Fell breed. We plan to train him to drive and take him to some of the local shows. Taisto has a bit of white on his back pasterns which make him look quite dashing while working in harness.

Laurelhighland Romany Boy

Romany Boy is our future stud colt! He was imported in-utero, out of Lownthwaite Monarch and by Peepings Raven, who still resides in England. Romany Boy brings to America some unique and championship bloodlines. Romany Boy will be great asset to our breeding program and fine complement with our Championship bloodline, traditional British Fell Pony mares.
